My Journal Choice

My choice for this project will be the online journal Senses of Cinema (http://www.sensesofcinema.com/). Upon looking at the site, I found that a few of the films/ideas in the article titles were recognizable, but many were not. However, all of what is presented on the home page intrigues me. The works, ideas, and auteurs discussed on this site seem to span many different generations and genres, so I am looking forward to the variety in store for me.

Jacob -
I think the historical variety, and genre variety, attract me to this publication also. It platforms discussions about makers both contemporary and historical, narrative and experimental. I credit it originating from another hemisphere - it's Australian, yes? - for offering considerations of makers not usually discussed in North American publications. But, whatver the cause, yes, a great, enticing variety. I learn a lot from it.

I also encourage you to take a look at the festival reports. They can offer a helpful window to current practices of making and exhibition. And I say this not just because one of the current posts is from a UWM film dept grad.

Be sure to check out the guidelines for the next round of blogs, now posted on the D2L site. Those blogs due by 10/29.

I look forward to your posts.
